Today

Today.

This is the day. This is the very moment where it will all come together, where everything will finally make sense. Still your hands, your heart, and your mind and let the feelings wash over you. There is a truth your heart has been longing for and this truth will never let you return to the place from which you have come.

God’s heart is to SAVE in every way.

He wants to save your soul right into forever. Forever you will delight in each other. Forever you will gaze upon His beauty as He whispers in your ear all that you have ever been to Him.

He wants to save you from your despair and nothingness. He will lift your head from the pillow and set your feet upon the ground to live another day.

He wants to save you from the hopelessness that keeps you bound and the isolation that locks the world safely away from your heart.

He wants to save you from the heaviness and depression that has stolen every ounce of life you have tried oh so hard to live, and He will envelop you in a vibrant circle of hope that will call forth a faith that simply says, “I trust you to lift me out of this.”

He wants to save you from yourself, from the striving and trying and failing and scattering pieces. He will pick up the shards of the mess you have created and reveal the most beautiful of destinies.

He wants to save you from everything and everyone that keeps Him hidden from your vision.

He saves everything.

He saves you into forever with him where you will then be completely loved, fulfilled, forgiven and full of a hope that makes no earthly sense whatsoever.

He doesn't just save the pretty or the ones who do a better job of disguising the pain or hiding the sin. He doesn't just save the ones who already pray or those who go to church every Sunday.

God saves the rich and the poor, the homeless and the cheater, and the one who fills his heart with everything of the world but nothing of real value. He saves the angry and the liars and the surgeons and the CEO.

He saves you.

He saves you right where you are. You don't have to walk up to a starting line. You don't have to change your clothes or wash the blood from your hands. The moment of saving is now, right where you are- even if it's a place you are ashamed of being yet once again.

He'll take you just as you are. Right here. Right now.

He’ll take your sad heart and hold it carefully as it heals to beat again on its own.

He’ll melt the anger and fill the hopelessness with an urge to keep living even if and even when.

He’ll fill your heart with desires greater than anything you have ever felt or known, and the things you have been using to make it to the next hour will be washed away by the tide of unnecessity.

He is the author of your story.

So right there…right where you are…whatever you come with or even if your hands and heart are completely empty…right there in all the darkness… let the light of His unconditional love give you the hope to say, “Yes.”

Right here.

Right now.

Today.
